Devin Nunes can’t sue Twitter over fake cow trolling him for not being a real dairy farmer: judge

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) misplaced his try to take down a fake cow account on Twitter, the Fresno Bee reported.

Judge John Marshall stated that Twitter was “immune from the defamation claims of” Nunes from @DevinCow as a result of federal legislation says social media firms aren’t liable for posts on their platforms. The Congressman was attempting to get hundreds of thousands of {dollars} out of Twitter along with his lawsuit.

Nunes “seeks to have the court treat Twitter as the publisher or speaker of the content provided by others based on its allowing or not allowing certain content to be on its internet platform,” Marshall wrote. “The court refuses to do so.”


Nunes had tried to sue a fake cow on Twitter that has spent months trolling him about not being a real dairy farmer. The largest drawback Nunes had, nonetheless, was that his lawsuit elevated a lot consideration to the fake cow account that it now has extra followers than the Congressman does. Now it has one other authorized win beneath its cowbell.


Nunes continues to be suing the Fresno Bee for $150 million over a story about a vineyard Nunes owned a stake in.

This does not imply that the lawsuit towards @DevinCow is dismissed. There continues to be a case towards the cow in addition to @NunesAlt and Republican operative Liz Mair.
